The television tower tour is a real spectacle! Because the destination of our latest tour is the world's first television tower. With a staggering 217 meter hight, it towers over Stuttgart and has defied wind and weather for 61 years.

 

On the way to the television tower, we also drive through popular districts of Stuttgart. We stop at beautiful viewpoints and tell little anecdotes and interesting stories about Stuttgart. Shortly before we arrive at our destination, we climb one of the steepest streets in the Swabian metropolis with a gradient of up to 17%. It is precisely this steep street that was used in the past to transport goods into the city. Incidentally, up to 16 horses were required as a leader to defy the slope.

 

When we arrive at the TV tower, we take a 30-minute break which allows you to explore the TV tower extensively.

 

To get back to the city, we take our Segways on a wonderful route through the smallest registered vineyard in Württemberg, which leads to Marienplatz. Marienplatz is the hotspot of the south of Stuttgart and has been a stop for the Stuttgart "Zacke" since 1884. It is the only rack railway in Germany that serves the daily rush hour traffic of a large city. Before we get back to the starting point of the tour, we pass the Marienkirche, which is also called the Little Notre Dame by the Stuttgart citizens due to its similarity to the Paris church building.
